Holman, Fenwick Willan, the international commerce law firm that specialises in areas such as shipping, moved into its London HQ several years ago with Function's help. Having acquired a whole team to create an aerospace division, the building layout needed a tweak to fit in the extra 30 people so HFW called us back in. They didn't give us too much time. We had six days notice for the whole job and signed off floor plans less than 24 hours before 'lift-off'. Phase one was achieved in three days and involved moving 90 of the existing 120 people, along with sequential packing, moving and unpacking of the associated 2000 linear metres of filing. The following weekend, the job was completed with phase two for the remaining 30 people and the incoming team. Over the two weekends over three kilometres of filing was moved - that's longer than six of the world's longest ships end to end. The client even commented that there wasn't a single file out of place!
