Mitsui & Co
The Mitsui Trading Company appointed Function as move partners to plan a relocation strategy that would overcome the logistic constraints of restricted access at both their existing and new premises, as well as ensuring that not a single moment of trading would be lost as a result of the migration.
In conjunction with the client, a carefully formulated round-the clock move schedule was agreed which included the sequential packing/unpacking of 4800 linear metres of filing, a comprehensive IT decommissioning and recommissioning service and the secure relocation of over 700 separate pieces of IT equipment. Additionally, Function's Heavy Moves Division relocated eight large safes. As part of the migration process, Function undertook an asset-tagging project for Mitsui's furniture and IT infrastructure. Using barcode technology and hand-held scanners Function created an electronic asset database allowing Mitsui to track the location, condition and depreciation of the organisation's assets.
Through careful planning with the relocation committee the entire project was completed ahead of schedule. Function was commended on the combination of outstanding customer service and value- for-money solutions.

Symbian’s headquarters are based in the United Kingdom (London and Cambridge) with offices in the United States and Asia. The nature of Symbian's fast-moving software licensing business means they need their UK service partner for workplace support to be proactive, flexible and consistently able to deliver a high-quality service to all of Symbian's 900 London-based employees. Since being appointed, Function has helped Symbian with reconfiguring and upgrading their furniture at their new offices in Waterloo, managing the migration of staff from various offices in the West End and providing disposal services for surplus furniture.
